Type of Visa
Ordinary passport holder who wishes to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes is subjected to be granted Tourist visa:

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

VALIDITY OF A VISA
The validity of a visa is 3 months or 6 months.
PERIOD OF STAY
Upon arrival, travelers with this type of visa may be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 60 days.
ADVICE
Visa applicants are suggested to submit application at least 15 working days prior to the intended travelling date to Thailand.
Non-Immigrant B
Ordinary passport holder who wishes to enter the Kingdom for conducting business or working is subjected to be granted a Non-Immigrant B Visa.

Travelling on a business purpose
1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months. The validity of 18 months is required for one year visa application.
2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
3. Letter from a company stating the objective of the visit to Thailand or Document showing correspondence with trading partners in Thailand. (eg. Letter confirming employment details, business registration or business license of a partner company in Thailand)
4. Letter of invitation from a trading company in Thailand
Employment/ Working in Thailand
1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months. The validity of 18 months is required for one year visa application.
2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
3. To obtain an Employment Visa, letter of approval from the Ministry of Labor is requested. (To obtain this letter, the prospective employer in Thailand is required to submit Form WP3 at the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor or at a Provincial Employment Office in the respective province. 4. Employment contract indicating rationale for employing the applicant as well as his/her salary, position and qualifications. (Document must be signed by authorized managing director and affixed the seal of the company)
5. Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour. (Only in case the applicant has previously worked in the Kingdom)
6. Copy of educational records of the applicant and letters of recommendation from the prior employers, identifying job description and length of service time.
* Please note that copy of corporate documents may be requested as deemed appropriated; namely 1) list of shareholders 2) business registration and business license 3) company profile 4) details of business operation 5) list of foreign workers stating names, nationalities and positions 6) map indicating the location of the company 7) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (PorNgorDor 50 and PorNgorDor 30) of the latest year 8) Alien income tax return (PorNgorDor 91) and 9) Value-added tax registration (PorNgorDor 20).
Internship (Non-Curricular internship)
1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.
2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
3. Business registration and business license of the hiring company in Thailand
4. Letter confirming the internship/participation from the company
IMPORTANCE
The document to be submitted for the visa application is contingent upon necessities and appropriateness of purposes stated in the application form. Copies of company documents must be signed by Board of Directors and affixed the seal of the company. In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.
The applicant must sign on each page of the copy. In addition, Documents in foreign languages must be translated into Thai. If translated into English, it should be notarized by notary organs or the applicant’s diplomatic/ consular mission.
VALIDITY OF A VISA
Single-entry visa is valid for three months. The validity of Multiple-entry visa could be varied from three months to one year.
PERIOD OF STAY
The holders of this type of visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.
EXTENSION OF STAY
Those qualified persons can obtain an additional one year stay permit counting from the date of entry in the Kingdom pertaining to the Office of the Immigration Bureau’s regulations on extension of stay. The extension of stay is at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
Applicants wishing to stay in the Kingdom longer than 90 days have to file their application at the Office of Immigration Bureau in Bangkok

Non-Immigrant IB
Ordinary passport holder whose purpose of visit is to invest in a BOI-registered company or work in a BOI-registered company can apply for the Non-Immigrant type IB Visa.

The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

Ordinary passport holder, whose purpose of visit is to study in Thailand, is subjected to be granted Non-Immigrant ED Visa.

Family of a Thai national (Immediate family includes spouse and children)
Ordinary passport holder wishing to stay with a family who is a Thai national in the following circumstances can apply for the Non-Immigrant type O Visa.
- Spouse of a Thai national
- Children of a Thai national (age must be under 20 years old unless they are unable to support themselves due to mental or physical condition)
- Legally adopted child of a Thai national (age must be under 20 years old unless they are unable to support themselves due to a mental or physical condition)
- Parent of a Thai national
- Applicant has no age restriction in case that the child is under 20 years old.
- Applicant must be over 50 years old in case that the child is over 20 years old.

Ordinary passport holder who wishes to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes is subjected to be granted Transit visa.
1. Travel in transit through the Kingdom in order to proceed to the country of destination or to re-enter his/her own country
2. Participate in sports activities for no longer than one month (sportsmen, sportswomen)
3. Person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom

VALIDITY OF A VISA
The validity of a visa is three months.
PERIOD OF STAY
Travelers coming to Thailand with Transit visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 30 days.
EXTENSION OF STAY
Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Government Center. The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

Long Stay
There are two options for foreigner wishing to apply for a long-stay visa to Thailand.

*For foreigner staying in Thailand with these type of visa , notification of stay every 90 days with the immigration bureau is required.
Non-Immigrant O-A
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

3. Financial evidence : a guarantee letter from the bank and a copy of bank statement showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 THB or an income certificate with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 THB or a deposit account plus a monthly income in total not less than 80,000 THB
4. Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality. The certificate should be valid not more than three months and should be notarized by notary organs or the applicant’s diplomatic or consular mission .
5. Medical certificate from the country where the applicants apply visa stating that applicants don’t have any prohibited diseases as follows; Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, drug addiction, third stage of Syphilis. The medical certificate must be issued no longer than 3 months prior to the date of submission.
VALIDITY OF A VISA
The validity of a visa is one years.
PERIOD OF STAY
Travelers coming to Thailand with Non Immigrant O-A visa will be initially granted a stay permit of one year in the Kingdom according to the validity of visa. After one year they can apply for the extension of one years.
EXTENSION OF STAY
The visa holder must file an application for an extension at the Office of Immigration Bureau in the province of residence .The extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
Non-Immigrant O-X (10 years)
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Passport with validity not less than 6 months
2. Three (3) application forms and 3 photographs (size 4 X 6 cm. taken within the last 6 months)
3. One (1) biography
4. Financial evidence
4.1 Certificate of bank deposit stating bank contact information, copy of bank book and bank statement which shows fixed deposit with the amount of not less than 3 million Baht deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand.
OR
4.2 Certificate of bank deposit stating bank contact information, copy of bank book and bank statement which shows fixed deposit with the amount of not less than 1.8 million Baht deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand and certificate of annual income with the amount of not less than 1.2 million Baht (local currency equivalent) per year. (Once the applicants enter Thailand, they must have accumulated money deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand not less than 3 million Baht within 1 year.)
5. Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality. In case the applicants have permanent residence in other country, they must provide the aforementioned document from both country of nationality and country of permanent residence.
6. Medical certificate from the country where the applicants apply visa stating that applicants don’t have any prohibited diseases as follows; Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, drug addiction, third stage of Syphilis. The medical certificate must be issued no longer than 3 months prior to the date of submission.
7. Copy of evidence stating that applicants have insurance as per stipulated by the Office of Insurance Commission and health insurance of Thailand which has insurance money for outpatient not less than 40,000 Baht and for inpatient not less than 400,000 Baht.

Spouse and child, age under 20 years old, can apply for Non-O-X visa and must have the following required documents
• Spouse (no age restriction) must show a copy of marriage certificate together with documents stated in 1-8.
• Child age under 20 years old must show a copy of birth certificate or proof of legitimate child and also have to submit documents number 1-3, 7 and 8
VALIDITY OF A VISA
The validity of a visa is five years.
PERIOD OF STAY
Travelers coming to Thailand with Non Immigrant O-X visa will be initially granted a stay permit of five years in the Kingdom according to the validity of visa. After five years they can apply for the extension of five years.
EXTENSION OF STAY
The visa holder must file an application for an extension at the Office of Immigration Bureau in the province of residence .The extension of stay is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.
Benefits of the Non-O-X visa holders

Apply for Smart Visa online
Once the applicants obtain a qualification endorsement letter from the SMART Visa Unit (under Thailand Board of Investment) located at the One-Stop Center for Visas and Work Permits. The applicants can apply for the Smart Visa through our e-visa platform.
Non-Immigrant F
Ordinary passport holder, whose purpose of visit as followings can apply for the Non-Immigrant F Visa.

Diplomatic Visa is for diplomatic passport /red UN Laissez-Passer holder visiting Thailand for official purpose or be posted in Thailand.
Diplomatic Visa is for diplomatic passport /red UN Laissez-Passer holder visiting Thailand for an official duties or activities on behalf of their national government or international organization will be granted a Diplomatic Visa “F”.
Diplomatic Visa is for diplomatic passport /red UN Laissez-Passer holder visiting to be posted in Thailand will be granted a Diplomatic Visa “D”.
Official Visa
Official Visa is for official passport / blue UN Laissez-Passer holder visiting Thailand for official duties or be posted in Thailand.

The holders of this type of visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.
EXTENSION OF STAY
For diplomatic passport holder and official passport holder who will be posted to Thailand, the extension of stay can be made through the Department of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
ADVICE
It is suggested that the application be submitted at least 15 working days prior to the intended travelling date to Thailand.
